Regional Reduced Fare Permit (RRFP)
Sometimes called a senior or disabled bus pass, this permit costs $3.00, can be temporary or permanent, and entitles people 65 years of age and older, people with a Medicare Card and people with a disability to reduced fares throughout the Puget Sound Region. This Region includes the counties of: Jefferson, King, Kitsap, Mason, Pierce, Skagit, Snohomish, Thurston and Whatcom.
Step 1) Pick up an application packet from Customer Service at
Skagit Station at 105 East Kincaid in Mount Vernon -or-
the Skagit Transit Business Office at 600 County Shop Lane in Burlington -or-
call (360) 757-4433 or toll-free at (877) 584-7528 to have an application mailed to you -or-
you can download an application.
Step 2) Fill out the application and gather the necessary documentation. If applying for a Medical Disability, have a doctor fill out the medical certification included in the packet.
Step 3) Bring the completed application, your identification and documentation (including the Doctor's certification if necessary) to our Customer Service window at Skagit Station, 105 East Kincaid Street, Mount Vernon. The office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The office is closed from 11:00AM to 12:00PM.
**NOTE: Allow 10 to 20 minutes for your application to be processed and your picture taken.
Step 4) Have the Customer Service representative at Skagit Station review the application and necessary documents for completeness and accuracy.
Step 5) Have your picture taken and pay $3.00 to receive your Reduced Fare Permit.
Step 6) Begin using your Reduced Fare Permit to purchase Fare Cards at the Skagit Station or at the Skagit Transit Business Office in Burlington.
