536 Bridge Detours - Routes 40X and 615

Routes 615 and 40X Detours Starting June 8, 2026

Starting June 8th, Routes 615 and 40X will operate on temporary eastbound detours due to a WSDOT bridge repainting project on SR536.

The eastbound detours are designed to minimize impacts to riders as much as possible and expected to remain in place through spring 2027 while work on the SR536 bridge continues. Westbound service is expected to remain unchanged outside of scheduled bridge closures.

Route 40X Detour

W Division St at Edgewater Park (500 block)

Please note that the Avon Allen bus stop near Memorial Highway will now be served bi-directionally, on both the 40X and the 615 throughout the course of the detour.

Planned Bridge Closures

WSDOT currently anticipates:

Four full-weekend bridge closures
Three additional nighttime closures between Sunday and Thursday

Specific closure dates have not yet been confirmed and will be shared as they become available.
