Cash, the Umo app, and Umo cards are accepted for fare payment. Exact change is required when paying cash.

Beginning Sept. 1, 2026, the 31-Day Regional County Connector Pass and Skagit-Whatcom One-Day Pass will no longer be accepted on local WTA routes. Both passes will continue to be accepted on Skagit Transit local routes and County Connector routes, including Routes 80X and 90X.

Skagit Transit is reviewing its regional fare products following WTA's changes to regional pass acceptance and will share additional information if changes are made.

Specialised transportation options are available for eligible paratransit riders. Below are the fare details:

Eligible Western Washington University students and employees can use a valid Western Card to ride Skagit Transit fixed-route service at no additional charge. Tap your Western Card when boarding.

Umo provides electronic fare payment through the Umo mobile app or a physical Umo card.

• The Umo mobile app can be used for fare payment and account management.
• Umo cards provide a physical option for fare payment.
• Both the Umo app and Umo cards support fare capping.
• Accounts can be managed online through the Passenger Portal, where riders can check balances, add value, and review account activity.

Fare capping uses Umo to limit how much riders pay for Skagit Transit service during a day or 31-day period.

• Local fixed-route fares are capped at $3 per day and $30 over 31 days ($1.50 per day and $15 over 31 days for reduced-fare riders).
• County Connector fares are capped at $6 per day and $50 over 31 days ($3 per day and $25 over 31 days for reduced-fare riders).
• Paratransit fares are capped at $60 over a 31-day period.

Beginning Sept. 1, 2026, Skagit Transit and WTA fare caps will be tracked separately. Fare changes for trips on Skagit Transit will count only toward Skagit Transit fare caps, while fare changes for trips on WTA will count only toward WTA fare caps.
