JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Director of Safety and Security, plans, develops, coordinates, and implements the security programs for Skagit Transit. Responsible for the protection, safeguarding and security of assets, personnel, customers, and all visitors for two locations. Oversees record and report retention for all security related matters at Skagit Transit.


 

WAGE:   $83,022.49-$107,158.62 Annually

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with the Director of Safety and Training to plan, organize, implement, and monitor Skagit Transit’s security program
  • Work as a primary member of the supervision team to respond to and help handle emergency situations
  • Works with the Director of Safety and Training in serving as liaison between Skagit Transit and contracted security agency/staff
  • Ensure security staff are conducting security patrols to protect and safeguard Skagit Transit’s assets, personnel, customers, and visitors
  • Assists in developing and implementing the security program to protect Skagit Transit property from theft, vandalism, sabotage, fire, and accidents
  • Work with Washington State Transit Insurance pool (WSTIP) in conducting security drills, training, and audits
  • Investigate and write reports on all incidents, suspicious activities, and other security related situations
  • Serve as Skagit Transit’s Security Supervisor and is a permanent consulting member to Skagit Transit’s Safety Committee
  • Assist the Safety Committee in forming security related recommendations
  • Work with Director of Safety and Training to maintain and update Skagit Transit’s emergency management plan to ensure Skagit Transit is prepared for emergencies within the organization or stemming from the community
  • Assists in implementing the security budget as well as procurement of security equipment and devices
  • May be required to serve as a designated emergency responder during disasters and/or emergencies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

 


 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the job. A typical way to meet this requirement would be:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, urban or transportation planning, safety, or related field
  • Five years of experience in transit operations
  • Training and/or experience in Stress Management and Situational De-escalation
  • Must possess and maintain valid first aid and CPR Certification
  • Maintain an acceptable driving record
  • Must maintain a physical condition that allows the employee to physically be able to perform the duties of the position
