JOB SUMMARY
Performs semi-skilled to skilled work related to the maintenance, repair, painting, and general upkeep of a variety of Agency facilities, equipment, routes and grounds on transit property.
WAGE:
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as a key service and maintenance technician for a variety of facility systems
-
Use standard checklists to conduct a regular program of inspection and preventive maintenance of buildings and facilities systems
-
Perform minor preventative maintenance on building components; document work performed
-
Maintain landscaping at all Skagit Transit properties
-
Maintain storm water and pollutions control systems at facilities
-
Operate heavy equipment, such as excavators, back hose, tractors, landscaping equipment, man lifts, and forklifts
-
Clean and sanitize bio-spills at all locations as needed; maintain and unclog toilets, sink drains and traps
-
Perform scheduled maintenance, inspection, and repair maintenance on facilities and equipment including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire control, shop and building equipment, painting, and small engine repair

Operate a variety of electrical systems including back up electrical service and 120/208/277/480-volt power systems
-
Operate a variety of security and life safety systems including fire alarms, panic alarms, CCTV, and automatic fire sprinklers
-
Receive customer/tenant facility maintenance, service and custodial requests and respond as authorized or forwards requests to Facilities Supervisor
-
Perform a variety of carpentry tasks including building and putting up shelves in work areas; maintain, modify, and make improvements to wall coverings; repair and replace countertop, floor covering, door threshold and other facility infrastructure; assemble and disassemble workstations including panel system workstations

Work as a team member with other personnel, mechanics, and vehicle servicer staff

Participate in the training of other staff members and temporary employees

Require regular reliable attendance
-
May be called after hours to respond to building emergencies

May be required to serve as a designated emergency responder during disasters and/or emergencies

Perform other related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the job. A typical way to meet this requirement would be:

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Two years of building or facility construction or building systems maintenance experience
-
Experience with HVAC or industrial equipment is highly desirable
-
Ability to obtain Mobile Elevating Lift Certification obtained within one year of employment
-
Ability to obtain Fork lift Certification obtained within one year of employment
-
Valid Washington State Driver’s License
-
Maintain acceptable driving record
