As a mechanic, you will perform skilled, journey-level mechanic work in the maintenance and repair of automotive, light and medium duty transit/paratranist, and heavy duty transit bus and related equipment. You will also diagnose malfunctions and complete repairs regarding mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic problems in the shop or in the field as necessary.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Inspects vehicles for proper operation of lighting, emergency doors, hydraulic lifts and other moving parts;
identifies equipment problems and makes adjustments and repairs as required

Diagnoses equipment failures and malfunctions of fuel, electrical, hydraulic, air, and mechanical systems, drive trains and differentials; repairs and replaces parts and components

Maintains and services vehicles in accordance with established schedules and intervals

Responds to emergency road calls and makes repairs if possible
