DRAFT 2026-2031 Transit Development Plan - Public Comment Open June 5 - July 5

 
 
 

The Six-Year Transit Development Plan (TDP) is Skagit Transit's roadmap for achieving long-term transportation goals. It details the planned investments in fleet upgrades, infrastructure projects, and service enhancements to meet the evolving needs of our community, promoting a more connected and sustainable transit network.

Skagit Transit  has released its draft 2026 – 2031 Transit Development Plan (TDP) and is accepting public comment.

The TDP reviews recent agency activity and outlines planned service, capital, financial, and operating priorities for the next six years. The final plan will be submitted to the Washington State Department of Transportation no later than September 1st, 2026. 

The public comment period will be open from Friday June 5, 2026 through Sunday, July 5, 2026. The draft TDP is available for review at www.skagittransit.org and may also be requested by visiting the customer service window at Skagit Station (105 E Kincaid St. Mount Vernon, WA 98273).

A public hearing on the draft TDP will be held during the Skagit Transit Board of Directors regular meeting on June 17 at 11am at Burlington City Hall. Public comments may be provided during the public hearing or submitted in advance by emailing clerkbod@skagittransit.org at least 24 hours prior to the board meeting.
